Our Story

32 years of excellence

Our story begins in 1988 with a family of entrepreneurs and their dedicated team. Together, we turned a small window and door shop into one of the largest privately-held manufacturing companies in Western Canada.

Hard work, dedication, and above all else, a customer-focused attitude have shaped us into the company we are today.

Built on a History

1988

Durabuilt is incorporated in Alberta, operating from our first 3,000 sq ft location.

1994

The Sunner family becomes the sole owners of Durabuilt and begins producing PVC windows by hand.

1998

Durabuilt grows again, moving into our third 26,000 sq ft location.

2002

Durabuilt moves into its fourth location, totaling 60,000 sq ft.

2003

Durabuilt wins the Consumers’ Choice Award within the window and door category.

2004

Durabuilt moves into its fifth and current location in Edmonton's west end.

2005

Durabuilt launches the industry’s first and only Tri-Bridex window series.

2007

Durabuilt opens a Design Gallery in Lethbridge, Alberta.

2008

Durabuilt receives recognition as a top 100 manufacturer.

2009

Durabuilt opens a Design Gallery in Calgary, Alberta.

2010

Durabuilt officially opens a Design Gallery in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

2011

Durabuilt becomes the first and only window and door manufacturer in Canada to achieve IMS certification.

2013

Durabuilt celebrates its 25th year in business and becoming one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies.

2014

Harry Sunner becomes Durabuilt's President and Joe Sunner to CEO.

2015

The all-new Alpha sliding windows series launches, and Durabuilt forms a partnership with Therma-Tru Doors.

2016

Durabuilt redesigns their Omega windows and opens their Lethbridge Design Gallery.

2017

Durabuilt introduced a design gallery in Winnipeg and Calgary.
